Canyoning

Canyoning is more adventurous than Ghyll Scrambling, something to really get your adrenalin pumping.

Starting from the top of the Ghyll (Cumbrian Mountain River) surrounded by the dramatic High Coniston fells: descent is made by jumping, sliding and scrambling between pools.

The day begins with a training abseil session where you will learn to use the equipment and what to do (it is too loud to hear instructions in the Canyon).

We then proceed to the top of the ghyll and begin the descent, who goes first, the best man decides! We recommend that all stag members in the group are fit and ‘up for it’ as Canyoning can be quite a committing activity.

This is a committing activity and requires the group to be totally up for it - hesitating is not what is needed. Consider also Ghyll Scrambling in the same venue for a equally wet option for groups with mixed confidence.
